Rules and Regulations for Fair Exhibitors
Exhibitors will be charged a $5.00 registration fee when items are registered. Exhibitors will be given, at registration, a ticket which entitles the exhibitor to free admission to the Fair for ONE (1) day.
Registration for all non-perishable items, such as crafts, dried flowers and pickles, will be held on the Wednesday and Thursday before the Fair, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, in each department.
All perishable items, such as baked goods, cut flowers and produce, will be registered on Saturday and Sunday, between 9:00 am and 10:00 am, in the appropriate department. No plastic items will be accepted in the Shed.
All homemade food items must be wrapped to meet Health Department regulations. No frozen items or custard pies will be accepted. Please list ingredients (i.e., whole wheat, white or rye flour, blackberries, sugar, raisins, etc.). All canned items must be pickled or preserved. Jams and jellies must be sealed; paraffin wax on top is not acceptable.
A label/tag, minimum size 1-1/2x 2-1/2(1/4 of a 3 x 5 index card), is required on each item. The exhibitor must place his/her fair number, name of article, and price on one side of the label. This label must be easy to read and firmly attached to the item. Since jars are usually displayed at eye-level on a shelf, it is suggested that labels be placed on the side of jar, rather than on the lid.
Any department may reject articles which do not meet Bluemont Fair standards. The Association will not be responsible for lost or stolen items. Complaints must be made in writing to the Bluemont Citizens Associations Fair Committee within seven (7) days of the receipt of the check. The Association will retain 20% commission on all items sold.
Exhibitors must pick up unsold items on the Tuesday following the Fair between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. The Association will not be responsible for items left after that time.
Participation by the exhibitor implies acceptance of these Rules and Regulations.
Anyone desiring his/her own booth may rent a space; a fee of $55 for both days will be charged. To reserve a space email Craft Chair. As the number of spaces is limited, they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
