For the Kids

Last updated 09-01-2007

The Bluemont Fair has long been a favorite among parents and little ones because we have a tremendous variety of fun, kid-oriented activities. On this page you will find a list of all the areas of the fair where children can find exciting, educational, and interactive things to do.

Alpacas, Llamas, and Sheep Display – Meet people including other children who raise alpacas, llamas, and sheep. Learn about shearing, fiber, spinning, and weaving. Sometimes we take the llamas on a walk-about wearing silly hats. They’re fun!

Antique Car Show – See what cars used to be like before seatbelts and computers were invented. Talk with the owners to learn what makes these classics special and timeless favorites. You can look, but no touching without permission. Saturday only (unless it rains on Saturday, then it’ll be Sunday if it’s not too muddy).

Beekeeping – Meet people who grow bees! Learn why honeybees aren’t like other stinging insects. Possibly see live bees up close (behind a protective see-thru covering).

Children's Art Show – Come see our local children’s works of art. Interested in displaying your art? Click here for more info about how to participate.

Children's Fair – This is one of our main attractions. You’ll find FREE prizes, contests, interactive crafts, games, clowns, farm animals, helium balloons and more. Geared for ages from toddler to young teens.

Model Train Display – Operate a model train and watch it run through the miniature village. Including some Thomas® trains and tracks for interactive play!

Organ Grinder – Come dance to the old-fashioned fun melodies and laugh at the puppets playing along.

Pony Rides – Real live actual ponies that move. Need we say more? Only $3 per ride. Check Daily Schedule for times.

Stamp Cancellation – Send your friends and family mail from the Bluemont Fair.

Vintage Tractors and Farm Equipment Display – Full-size operating farm machines. New and old.
