2008 Poster Artwork Artist
Jan Hundshamer
Originally from Pittsfield, Mass, I have lived in Northern Virginia for over 40 years and consider it home. I have always been interested in art and painted in my teenage years. A family and working full time put my painting on hold for quite a few years. My interests also included raising and showing quarter horses at my former home in Bluemont. I now reside in Lovettsville, Va, and was lucky enough to live next to a grass airstrip. I learned how to fly, owned 2 airplanes and was active in restoration.
I retired from the U.S.Postal Service as a rural carrier for over 30 years. Finally, I have time to devote to my passion for painting. I am a member of the Loudoun Sketch Club and enjoy painting with fellow artists. My paintings have been displayed and sold throughout Loudoun County including Barns & Farms, Flora & Fonna, Art in the Foothills, Aldie Mill, and Oatlands. I have also done commission pieces for local people. My paintings are done in watercolor and are quite detailed. This year my design was chosen for the Bluemont Fair. I enjoy painting and hope to continue for many years.
